Day 1501: “Incredible” by Celine Dion and Ne-Yo

We even counted us out
We weren’t sure we’d make it
But we’ve learned no matter what they dish out
It’s nothing, we can take it
Celine Dion and Ne-Yo, “Incredible”

It’s 1 : 09  PM on day 1501 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Ecclesiastes 8, publish my Disability of the Day feature, promote my Educate Generations campaign –  on $710– stretch my hamstrings,  feed myself bran flakes with banana for breakfast  and continue promoting my campaign – still on $710 at least I’m raising awareness about girls’ education (I hope).

This morning I heard “Incredible” by Celine Dion and Ne-Yo it’s such an unlikely yet beautiful duet. Listen to “Incredible” by Celine Dion and Ne-Yo below:

Hello Nisha and readers of Nisha360 (must get you in touch with Matt Colwell):

Hasn’t Dion worked with hip-hoppers/rappers/Rhythm and Blues people before? In fact, so many of the collaborations within these genres have been very fertile and her strongest works. My own favourite would probably be TREAT HER LIKE A LADY and some on TAKING CHANCES.

Thinking of young Celine at the moment (as in the 1970s and 1980s – before her Yamaha Award and Eurovision). When she was a kid she didn’t like school all that much, and she spends time talking about how she felt about it in MY STORY MY DREAM (Georges Hebert helped her with the book and it was published in 2000/01 – I acquired it at the end of the decade). Then she talks about what she learnt from the Angelil family and her own. (Of course the Dion farmhouse was a musical schoolhouse – especially when the brothers in the industry were involved).

I think she was in her early teens when she started in her formal music career. It’s good to see her rock out into her mid-forties, notwithstanding several breaks and retirements.

And now she’s a parent to two school-age kids: Eddy and Nelson. So she would definitely be into Educating Generations.

Her big charity is the Cystic Fibrosis Association, so she would be making sure students got hospital education. (Think about Karine’s story too…)

    Wow: that Canadian cyclist!
