Day 1401: Feeling deeply

You can’t change who you are – that’s what I realized this morning.

It’s 12  : 00 PM on day 1401 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  brush my teeth,  pray, read Psalm 88,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast and promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 1 088.84.

This morning I was thinking about how I tend to fall in platonic love with people when I meet people I really like I talk about them constantly meanwhile they forget about me the moment  I leave the room it’s a bit of a dent to my ego but that’s okay I wouldn’t change the fact that I feel deeply for anything because that’s part of what makes me who I am.  Are you embarrassed by the fact that you feel deeply about people and things?

Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben almost said it right. I’ve improved upon the comic book wisdom: With great gifts, come great responsibility.
