Day 1389: Self-discipline – A lesson taught to me by Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy has taught me self-discipline – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 31 PM on day 1389 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 76,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself  Chapati and vegetable curry for breakfast  and promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on $895.54.

This morning I woke up and did my hamstrings stretches even though I knew it would hurt like hell when you have a condition like Cerebral Palsy you do what you have to do even when you don’t want to which serves you well in life because everything in life requires self-discipline.  Have you learned unexpected lessons from your challenges?
