Day 957

Freedom is what we do with what is done to us. ― Jean-Paul Sartre

It’s  4  : 48 PM on day 957 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Numbers 10, take off my dirty t-shirt and put on a clean one,   feed myself Bran Flakes for breakfast, go visit my cousin, publish my Disability of the Day feature  and practice typing with both hands.

This morning my parents decided to go visiting after picking up my brother from extra class but before they left my mother came to my room and said as if trying to make up for not taking me with them when we come back we’ll take you to visit your cousin it’s always like this around here when my parents want to go visit people that we don’t know very well they usually leave me with the housekeeper and one other person so I won’t feel like I’m the only one they didn’t take it hurts to think that my own parents are ashamed of me but just as they choose not to take me to certain places I can choose to forgive them for it and focus on all the good things that they do for me we are all willing to forgive people while sitting in the front pews of a church but I think it’s just as important to forgive people in our every day lives.  Are you under the misconception that you have to do unto others exactly as they’ve done unto you?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

I’m sorry to hear about this 🙁
Question: are you certain they are ashamed of you, or do they perhaps think they are protecting you from other people’s ignorance? Have you sat them down and told them that you are able to stand up for yourself?
I know you know your parents much better than I do, of course, I was just thinking 🙂

Yes I’m pretty sure every time my parents decide to go visit my dad asks is Nisha coming to such and such a place like he really doesn’t want me to come. I think I’ve made it clear to them that I can stand up for myself but just in case I’ll try to bring it up in conversation 🙂

Have something to say about this post? Please leave a comment I'd love to hear from you
