Day 805

“Behind all your stories is always your mother’s story. Because hers is where yours begin.”
― Mitch AlbomFor One More Day.

It’s  11 : 43 AM on day 805 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast and stretch my hamstrings.

A couple of months ago I joined a Facebook group called CP Connection – a group where people affected by Cerebral Palsy come together to share their experiences – being a part of this group has given me a new respect for special needs moms (these guys have to worry about things that most parents don’t even have to consider like is the belt on my child’s wheelchair so loose that he/she will slide off the chair, will the utensils that we have in our kitchen be easy for him/her to hold, at school will they be made fun of by other kids because they are different… I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be special needs mom)  so to them and my own mom I would like to say thank you SO MUCH for being there to push people like me to be the best that we can be when we end up being something in life feel free to take the credit you deserve it.  Do you express appreciation for everything your mother has done for you?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
