Day 674

Great leaders are remembered long after they leave political office – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 4 : 58 PM on day 674 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,    work, promote my Mandela Day initiative,  feed myself   All Bran Flakes for breakfast, promote my Mandela Day initiative some more – @RainbowKate@colettecaddle and @USMMariner have donated 4 bed nets between them hopefully 6 more nets will be donated by midnight GMT+2   🙂

Today is July 18 aptly declared Mandela Day by the United Nations in 2009 the whole country has joined together in wishing Mr. Mandela a happy birthday I’ve never seen anything like it it’s like  we have all put aside our differences for one day for Nelson Mandela’s birthday I guess it is a testament to what kind of leader he was (and  continues to be) if I become a tenth of the person he is I will have done well. Happy 94th birthday Mr. Mandela thank you for teaching me perseverance and forgiveness.

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

Mr. Mandela is one of my heroes, too, Nisha! He is a remarkable man who has taught the whole world about perseverance, fighting for justice, the importance of education, and the power of forgiveness.

A worthy role model to have, Nisha! And you are growing to become an inspiration in your own right.
I wish I could donate to your campaign. Unfortunately being a student, finances are not in my favour. One day (“when I’m big”) I’ll have a monthly philanthropy budget.
Best of luck with this campaign!
