Day 2976: Self-Discipline – A Cornerstone of Life

Self-discipline is the cornerstone of every life – that’s what I’ve been reminded of.

It’s 1: 45 PM on day 2976 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray read a Bible verse, spend time outside and do some work

Today life reminded me that self-discipline is the cornerstone of every life if one cannot keep one’s own rules than  what hope do we have of following someone else’s rules and keeping promises made.

Day 2975: 5 – 12 November Goals

Highlights of the Week

  • Finding out my sister has been placed back in our city for her internship starting next year (mother and father are delighted – and me too a little bit but don’t tell my sister wouldn’t want her to get a big head or anything)
  • Hearing my Superhero Catherine Constantinides’ very sweet voicenote – there she was on a plane to Egypt for the World Youth Forum and she thought to call me and when I couldn’t be reached she sent a voicenote she continues to teach me that when people truly love you their actions show it I was so profoundly touched by her determination to connect with me and her kindness (I LOVE my Superhero who never quits – I have many doubts in life but I NEVER doubt that God loves, my family loves me and my Superhero loves me she tells me and shows me often). When I grow up may I be half the person she is and a tenth as kind as she is PLEASE God. #HumanGoals
  • All the little big things I was able to do and bring about
  • Listening to Superhero speak at the World Youth Forum in Egypt – I was watching via livestream (where there’s a will there’s a way and for my family and my Superhero I ALWAYS have the will of a thousand people) Superhero made me and our country SUPERPROUD!
  • Getting through Friday’s physiotherapy session which was unusually painful
  • All the times this week I spend outside in nature

Day 2974: National Disability Rights Awareness Month

“Try not to associate bodily defect with mental, my good friend, except for a solid reason.” -Charles Dickens

It’s 11: 25 AM on day 2974 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray read a Bible verse  and do some work

Yesterday marked the start of National Disability Rights Awareness Month here in South Africa I truly am grateful for the fact that I live in a country that strives to include differently-abled people in every aspect of life. Thank you to the Government of South Africa for caring about differently-abled people I know in many other countries sadly differently-abled people are not valued as much.

Day 2973: Become Everything You Want From the World

In life we attract what we are not what we want- that’s my message to the world

It’s 11: 19 AM on day 2973 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray read a Bible verse  and do some work

Yesterday I was reminded that in life we attract what we are not what we want I’ve noticed that most people want from life what they themselves aren’t they want love while they are hateful, trust while being disloyal, abundance  while living in a mindset of scarcity…life doesn’t work like that love, be loyal and see that you have much already and love, loyalty and abundance will come looking for you.

Day 2972: Existing Vs. Living

The difference between existing and living is the contribution we make to the world- that’s my message to the world.

It’s 7: 33 AM on day 2972 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray read a Bible verse  and do some work.

Yesterday I was reminded that money and fame are not my end-goal in life what’s most important to me is that every day I exist the world is better BECAUSE OF ME sometimes I volunteer my time and other times I give of my resources. Make a difference WHEREVER YOU ARE in whatever way that you can.

Day 2971: Reflect and Reprioritize

Reflect often and reprioritize as much as you need to – that’s my message to the world

It’s 1: 59 PM on day 2971 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work

This year I switched up my routine entirely I no longer switch on my laptop first thing in the morning instead I pray, spend time outside, actually eat breakfast… it has made a remarkable difference in my life I think my surgery is the best thing that has ever happened to me it has forced me to reprioritize and made me realize that the most important things – the trees, flowers, birds, and a deep sense of connection –  are out there in the world and the most important people are sitting across from me

Day 2971: Contentment in A World of Consumerism

If all you have now is all you ever will have would you still be grateful?- that’s my question to the world

It’s 11: 13 AM on day 2971 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work

Today I found myself wondering if all you have now is all you ever will have would you still be grateful – in our consumerist society could we possibly be content with enough while still striving to be all of who we were born to be…I hope it’s possible FOR ALL OUR SAKES because this more-is-more culture is destroying Earth (literally).

Day 2970: Trying

Even when nothing seems to go right keep trying  – that’s my message to the world

It’s 1: 03 PM on day 2970 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work

Today nothing is going my way people are ignoring me, my ideas lack their usual spark…Tuesday feels like a Monday but I’m not quitting God is conspiring for me to succeed something awesome is going to happen  before today ends I know it.

Day 2969: 29 October – 5 November Goals

“Your Monday morning thoughts set the tone for your whole week. See yourself getting stronger, and living a fulfilling, happier and healthier life.“ –
Germany Kent

It’s 12:  12 PM on day 2969 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  spend time outside, read a Bible verse  and do some work

Day 2968: To my Mother Who Stays: THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Pay more attention to those who stay than to those who leave – that’s my message to the world

It’s 11 : 56 AM on day 2968 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, go to church, read a Bible verse  and do some work

This morning I was reminded to pay more attention to those who stay than to those who leave I get sad sometimes that family members who I thought would always be there for me seem to have forgotten me – no more weekly phone calls nothing I’m lucky if they reply to my whatsapps and call on my birthday – but my mom who this morning walked to church pushing me reminded me that she will stay with me for as long as God allows and I truly truly truly appreciate that.
