Day 1853: “The World’s Worst Place to be Disabled” Documentary

South Africa has its challenges but it’s a great place to live – that’s what I want the world to know.

It’s  12 :  30  PM on day 1853 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read John 19, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,  have breakfast and learn one new thing – Abstruse [ab·struse] adj. Difficult to understand; obscure. “An abstruse argument presented by the lawyers.”

A few months ago I watched “The World’s Worst Place to be Disabled” – a documentary by Sophie Morgan about the atrocious way in which differently-abled people are treated in Ghana – every time I think of that documentary I am filled with deep sadness for the differently-abled people in Ghana and gratitude for the fact that I live in South Africa where my human rights are protected.
