Don’t get mad prove them wrong– that’s what I keep learning 🙂
It’s 3 : 09 PM on day 709 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg for breakfast, drink coffee by myself, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, watch TV and work some more.
This morning I came across a tweet which read Estate Planning for Kids with Special Needs and I was PISSED don’t get me wrong I don’t have a problem with parents planning ahead what I do have a problem with is parents saving money for their kids because they think their kids won’t be able to provide for themselves when they are of legal age the majority of kids who have special needs will grow up to be happy, healthy, contributing members of society it ergs me that people expect so little of people who have special needs I swear before I leave this Earth I am going to break the disability stereotype not only for myself but also for future generations of kids who will be different. When people make incorrect assumptions about you do get mad or prove them wrong?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
