Day 1268: “Perfect” Official Music Video by Pink

Pretty, pretty please
Don’t you ever, ever feel
Like you’re less than
Less than perfect
– “Perfect”, Pink

It’s 12  : 45 PM on day 1268 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray, brush my teeth, read Job 2, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself All Bran Flakes  for breakfast, promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – 9 days and still no donations thank you God for teaching me patience -practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings and promote my campaign some more – still no luck.

A couple of weeks ago I saw Pink’s “Perfect” music video I’ve heard the song many times but it wasn’t until I watched the video that I realized that the song was about self-love not love for another person. Watch Pink’s very relatable and moving “Perfect” music video below:

Day 1251: Not perfect? Join the club

There are going to be times in my life when I act less than ladylike and that’s okay because I’m only human – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12  : 37 PM on day 1251 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray,  brush my teeth, feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  read Nehemiah 8, spend time with family, chat to granny in India via Skype – after talking to my gran I realize I should appreciate the fact that she still can talk to me and make more of an effort to spend time with her even if it’s just virtually – publish my Disability of the Day feature, and  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – no luck today either.

Yesterday I felt attacked by somebody so naturally I felt like I had to defend myself the person I became while trying to defend myself I was ashamed of looking back on that situation I realize there are going to be times in my life when I act less than ladylike and that’s okay because I’m only human. Have you accepted the fact that you will never be perfect?

Day 1126: Perfect – a story about the transformative power of love

Love has the power to transform– that’s what I learned yesterday.

It’s 1 : 35  PM on day 1126 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth,  read 1 Kings 5,  feed myself boiled egg and Bran Flakes for breakfast,    publish my Disability of the Day feature,  publish my Kid of the Week feature, go to church, go visit people, continue reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult and  tweet and Facebook about my campaign -$1020 raised 2 days to go.

Yesterday I came across Perfect – a story about Heath who writes a letter to his second daughter confessing that he wanted her to be aborted when he found she had Down Syndrome – what I love about this story is that it illustrates the transformative power of love here is this guy who wanted to abort his baby because she has Down Syndrome now walking around with Down Syndrome tattooed across his chest. Watch the heart-breaking yet heart-warming Perfect below:
