Day 2084: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom

“Everyone joins a band in this life. And what you play always affects someone. Sometimes, it affects the world.” ― Mitch Albom, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto

It’s 12 : 30  PM on day 2084 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Matthew 25: 40, learn one new thing – Other scientists studying bird bones have estimated that under ideal conditions, DNA has a half-life of approximately 521 years, meaning that it would be broken down so much as to be useless after about 1 million years.– go to church, have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign   – raised $5 774 only $476 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ).

Yesterday I finished reading The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom it’s a book about how everything is connected but it’s also about music, love and life I would recommend it to all the music experts and would give it a 6 out of 10 (some of the technical aspects of music went over my head completely).

Day 1531: Growth and the evolution of tastes

As we grow our tastes evolve and that’s okay – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 : 47 PM on day 1531 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 18, start reading Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult – we woke up to a power outage but I quite enjoyed it no TV, no music and no internet just me and the latest Jodi Picoult novel 🙂 – feed myself Uppumavu and chicken curry and a banana for breakfast,  publish my Disability of the Day feature and promote my Educate Generations campaign–still on $850 but people have promised to donate and I  continue to pray about so things will get moving again eventually meanwhile I’ll continue to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education.

This morning I was thinking about how my taste in books has evolved with age back in the day I only read romance novels now I pride myself on reading books by Mitch Albom, Jodi Picoult and Malcolm Gladwell and I almost feel embarrassed when someone catches me reading a romance novel. Have you noticed that your tastes have evolved with age?

Day 1436: The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom

“Fear is how you lose your life…a little bit at a time…What we give to fear, we take away from…faith.” ― Mitch Albom, The First Phone Call from Heaven

It’s 1  : 20  PM on day 1436 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, finish reading The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom, read Psalm 124,    stretch my hamstrings,  practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, publish my Disability of the Day feature,   feed myself All Bran Flakes with banana  for breakfast and listen to music – I LOVE “Superheroes” by The Script I can’t be sure but I think the music video was shot  in a South African township I was so moved that one of the most famous bands in the world would bring their music to people who might not otherwise have a chance to hear it.

This morning I finished reading The First Phone Call from Heaven by Mitch Albom – a novel about the chaos that ensues after residents of Coldwater, Michigan report receiving phone calls from heaven – I loved the messages in the book about love, fear and faith but the story that tied all those messages together wasn’t that amazing.

Day 936

Stop counting your days and start living them– that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 2  : 45 PM on day 936 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself  a boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  pray, read Leviticus 16, listen to music, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, prepare my Kid of the Week feature for tomorrow  and   practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles.

Last night after I finished reading The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom I realized that I should stop counting my days and start living them we as human beings often want to pause, rewind or fast-forward time but while we’re busy keeping time we miss the magic of the present moment. Are you counting your days or living them?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
