Day 815

We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count. ~ Neal A. Maxwell

It’s  1 : 20 PM on day 815 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  publish my Disability of the Day feature, stretch my hamstrings, brush my teeth,   practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  feed myself an egg sanddwich for breakfast, practice typing with both hands, practice sitting some more  and watch TV

Yesterday I read Dear Nike: I Can’t Tie My Shoes by Mark Fidelman – an article about how Matthew Walzer, a 17 year old with cerebral palsy, took action on frustration he felt over not being able to tie his shoe laces and ended up with several custom-made pairs of Nike shoes – I’ve read several articles about Matthew but this one in particular made me realize the magnitude of Matthew’s actions by doing what he did Matthew not only bettered his own life own but could also better the lives of thousands of people who have special needs I aim to follow Matthew’s example I want to make life easier for those like me who will come after me. Are you making your blessings count?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
