Day 1951: Listen

The ability to listen is the most underrated ability that human beings are blessed with – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 15 PM on day 1951 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Galatians 4, learn one new thing –1863: The first one-dollar bill was issued as a Legal Tender Note (United States Note) with a portrait of Salmon P. Chase, the Secretary of the Treasury under President Abraham Lincoln.– go to church, have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign –  yesterday two people who prefer to remain Anonymous donated $300 between them (one donated $250 and the other donated $50) (thanks SO MUCH guys your support means the world to me 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $1 080 only $5 170 more to raise in 358 days (SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far. 🙂 ).

Yesterday someone gave me some really awesome advice and fortunately my heart and mind were open to receiving said advice oftentimes in life when people give us advice we get defensive and turn off our ears but we would do well to listen to the smart people in our lives who only want the best for us.

Day 1172: Listen

Sometimes people don’t need you to fix things for them they just need you to listen – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12  : 07 PM on day 1172 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray,  brush my teeth,   read 1 Chronicles 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feed myself  All Bran Flakes and boiled egg for breakfast, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  stretch my hamstrings and hang out with my sister.

Today was one of those days I wished I could make people see life through my eyes sometimes I tell people I’m in pain or that I’m uncomfortable and some of them respond by saying what can I do about it I wish they understood that I don’t need them to do anything except listen. Do you listen to other people talking about their problems even if you can’t fix things for them?
