Day 791

Know the rules that you live by so that you won’t easily lose your way – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s  4 : 23 PM on day 791 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  stretch my hamstrings, practice typing with both hands,      feed myself a chicken sandwich for breakfast and watch TV.

This morning while exercising I reflected on the rules that I live by (I think everybody should have rules that they live by God knows there would be fewer morally bankrupt people roaming the Earth I think I’ve always had rules that I lived by only I didn’t know it until today) which are:

  1. Put God first in everything you do
  2. When in doubt ask yourself what would Jesus do (I know I must sound saintly right now but believe me I’m as far from being a saint as anybody can get I just ask myself that question to check whether or not I’m on the right track)
  3. Always say please and thank you (it’s seems like such a small thing but we have to understand that nobody is here to serve us and know that if they do it’s because they want to and not because they have to)
  4. Always be grateful (Sometimes we look at our lives and all we see is what is wrong and what we lack but the truth is there are probably a thousand people right now who would line up to  swap lives with us)
  5. Give (Giving is the most unrated thing in life people think you need a lot of money to give which is so not true you could give a hug, you could give a compliment, you could give someone a shoulder to cry on …. giving  is making people feel valued and showing them that you care)
  6. Be nice to everyone, especially those who are mean to you (I have this theory that people are mean to other people because they feel bad about themselves so I try to make them feel good about themselves hoping they will be nice)
  7. Choose morals over money every time (People have offered to pay me to do things that I knew were wrong and I turned them down because I knew that all the money in the world wouldn’t mean a thing to me if I lost who I was in the process of making it)

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
