Day 1335: Look Up by Gary Turk

“I took a step back, and opened my eyes, I looked around, and then realized that this media we call social, is anything but when we open our computers, and it’s our doors we shut.” – Gary Turk, Look Up

It’s 12  : 44 PM on day 1335 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 22,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself egg with bread for breakfast, continue reading Divergent by Veronica Roth  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 80% but I’m grateful things could be worse I could be on 0%.

Two days ago I watched Look Up– a spoken word film by Gary Turk about how we are connected to social media and disconnected from each other – I could relate to what Gary said in his film there have been times when people have come over for a visit only to spend the whole visit looking down at their phones when that happens I can’t help but think am I that uninteresting that you have to talk to another person while you’re talking to me. Watch the truthful depiction of humanity today in Look Up by Gary Turk below:
