Let go of the things people didn’t do and focus on what they did do– that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 3: 15 PM on day 590 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, publish my Disability of the Day feature and exercise my right hand – I can now pick up and put down a coffee mug with my right hand (double yay!) I need more practice though should have it down by tomorrow
Today something happened which made me realize that the attitude of ingratitude is a part of the human condition think about it somebody will do a hundred nice things for us do we stop to say thank you I don’t think so instead we will be mad about the one thing that person didn’t do it’s really sad and I, for one, am going to express my gratitude more often I make entries in my Gratitude Journal of 2012 every day but seldom thank anyone to their face – I thank my mother for dinner and thank the housekeeper for taking me to the bathroom that’s about it. Do you choose to focus on what wasn’t done for you instead of what was?
