Day 837

I am so lucky to live in the house I live in– that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s  7 : 12 PM on day 837 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to stretch my hamstrings, ,take off my t-shirt by myself, brush my teeth, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  practice typing with both hands,  go to a braai (barbecue) and watch TV.

This afternoon we (my dad, my sister, my brother and I) went to a braai at my dad’s friend’s house which I’ve been to once before the house was as modern and elegant as I’d remembered it but there were also stairs everywhere I couldn’t help thinking I’m so glad I don’t live here there were so many places where I could have fallen as opposed to our house which has only a couple of stairs (three stairs from the playroom to the dining room and a stair leading up to the front door) being in that house has given me a newfound appreciation for the accessibility of our house.  Do you appreciate any and every thing that makes your life easier?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
