The Serenity Prayer |
|
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen. –Reinhold Niebuhr |
It’s 5: 53 PM on day 576 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, drink tea by myself, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast, edit my book The Accidental Philanthropist, edit my video for my I Am Disabled Campaign – I will publish it asap – feed myself rice and curry for lunch and go to the dentist.
Today my dentist told me she wouldn’t be able to whiten my damaged tooth completely so two-third of my tooth will always be black and I’m fine with that my tooth white or black doesn’t change who I am I’m still great. Do you have the serenity to accept the things you cannot change?
