About anything and everything that’s close to my heart

Where is Jesus when I need Him to resurrect someone?

To feel deeply is both a blessing and a curse– that’s my message to the world

Today I am still sad that my late physiotherapist is dead I miss her so much and I can’t talk about it with my parents they are very stoic people (I can’t remember the last I saw either of them cry) they think I got over this a month after she died but the truth is I’m still not over it the depth of my cries nobody will hear because I cry quietly I know Gerda would want me to be happy but I can’t right now all I can think is “Where is Jesus when I need Him to resurrect someone? “  I would give anything to hear her say one last time “You stepped over my heart with your muddy feet.” in response to my excitement at the end of each of our sessions.

Free Mahfouda Bamba Lefkir #StandInTheSand

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Today I reminded that all of us are blessed in different ways we just have to figure out which ways we are blessed and how it can help people “ – Martin Niemöller

A Saharawi Human Rights Activist named Mahfouda Bamba Lefkir was unlawfully arrassed by the Moroccan regime simply for expressing that the judicial system in occupied Western Sahara is corrupt. I and others call on the international community to strongly condemn Morocco’s unlawful imprisonment of Mahfouda Bamba Lefkir and other Saharawi human rights activists

Statement by international Activist Catherine Constantinides to the seminar on resources of #WesternSahara . #StandInTheSand

“Stand for something or you’ll fall for everything.” – Unknown

Today I would like to share a powerful statement by Catherine Constantinides about Morocco’s plunder of Western Sahara’s natural resources – Western Sahara has been illegally occupied by Morocco since 1975 due to the fact that Western Sahara is rich in natural resources.

“Underdog” by The Script

“This is for the lost, the left out, the looked over

The ones who fight wars, the true soldiers

For the ones who keep marchin’ on

This is for the highs, that our eyes could not believe in

The woes, the low blows, we won’t give in”

The Script, “Underdog”

Recently I heard “Underdog” by The Script it’s such a good song I had to share

I’m back

Sometimes we just need a break – that’s what I’ve realized

I haven’t blogged in a few days simply because I’ve had nothing to say the second half of 2019 has been like a punch in the gut the temporariness of life has left me reeling I’m still trying to find my footing maybe we can find it together

The Springboks Are In The City #SpringboksTrophyTour

“Sport has the power to change the world,”- Nelson Mandela

Today our Rugby World Champions, the Springboks, stopped at our city on their Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour people lined the streets dancing, singing waiting for the team bus to pass by so we could catch a glimpse of the team and the trophy – my dad had to put me on his lap in the car for me to be able to see anything but in the end we got it done

CORONA X PARLEY STREET SURFERS #StreetSurfers #ProtectParadise

“There are billions of us on this planet if each of us picked up one piece of plastic every day we could be living in a completely different world.” – Frank Solomon

Today I watched CORONA X PARLEY STREET SURFERS – an amazing documentary (powered by Corona and Parlay ) in which Surfer Frank Solomon shows us how surfing intersects with that of thousands of waste pickers known as Street Surfers who help keep South Africa’s oceans plastic-free. Watch CORONA X PARLEY STREET SURFERS below:

Less is More

Place a value on things money can’t buy that way even when you may be broke you won’t be poor – that’s my massage to the world

Today I would like for us to take a moment to understand that less is more and to place a value on things money can’t buy that way even when we may be broke we won’t be poor

My Future Obituary

Start from the end and work backwards – that’s my message to the world

Some people spend Friday nights watching series I write my future obituary to remind myself what kind of person I want to be and all the things i want to accomplish

Nisha Varghese (1991-Hopefully A LONG TIME FROM 2019)

Nisha Varghese is survived by her loving family. Nisha was kind, compassionate, generous, courageous, loyal, honest and fair. She appreciated everything, expected nothing and when she was on your side you truly felt it – she spared no effort or expense to make family, friends and sometimes strangers feel loved and appreciated. Nisha travelled the world, met new people and lived as though everything was a miracle because to her it was. She lived to make a difference and inspire others to do the same but what she did not realize was that the difference she made in the world was also making her. Nisha lived fully!
