Sometimes questions and not answers change your life – that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 8 : 09 PM on day 704 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, feed myself a boiled egg for breakfast, drink coffee by myself, watch TV, take part in a magazine interview via email – a popular magazine in South Africa wants to feature my story in their October issue – feed myself rice and curry for dinner, brush my teeth once more and watch some more TV.
Today in the magazine interview I was asked why did you choose a programme in Kenya, rather than a more local programme in South Africa I thought about it for a few minutes and answered from my heart I chose to raise money for an international project because I think of myself as a citizen of the world and not just as a citizen of South Africa. Whether you live in Kenya or South Africa – all pain is the same, all suffering is the same. the truth of my answer shocked even me in today’s world everybody is so territorial and possessive that we only watch out for the people we consider to be our own without realizing that everybody is our own. Has someone ever asked you a question that has changed your life?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
