Alone we can make a difference together we can change the world– that’s what I keep learning 🙂
It’s 2 : 25 PM on day 684 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself rice and beetroot for lunch, brush my teeth and listened to music.
Today I came across a tweet which read i HATE folk that make fun of disabled people or people with special needs, it’s arrogant and disgusting in that moment I realized that it would be ordinary people who didn’t have a “disability” and didn’t have any family members or friends who had a disability who would play the biggest part in ending “disability” discrimination if everyone who heard a “disability” slur said please stop saying that it would make more of an impact than if a couple of people affected by “disability” said it so I’m asking you to say stop saying that the next time you hear a “disability” slur together we can create a world free of “disability” discrimination. Do you stand with others and speak for the voiceless whenever the opportunity presents itself?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
Nisha,
You can blame these people….they just don’t know any better. Hopefully at some point they will learn from their mistakes. Maybe we can show them the way.
Chrissy
Yeah I know. Maybe we can 🙂
That’s what I’m hoping for 😉 Could be why our paths have crossed (and grateful for it) 🙂
