Day 623

Heroic acts and nothing else makes someone a hero  – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 3 : 23 PM on day 623 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  feed myself  Oats  for breakfast, drink  Green Tea by myself,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, exercise my right hand –  I  cut  a piece of sausage into smaller pieces using a knife with my right hand pretty soon I will have mastered using a fork and knife I am SO PROUD of me 🙂 – and feed myself steamed vegetable and fish curry for lunch.

Last night I read Teen says she was punished for trying to stop bullying of girl with mental disabilities – an article on foxnews.com about eighteen-year-old Stormy Rich whose bus privileges were revoked after she reported the bullying of a mentally disabled girl (“When the school didn’t do anything, I told the girls, if the school didn’t do anything, I was going to do something,” Rich told Fox 35 — and that’s what got her in trouble)– as I read that I couldn’t help wishing there were more Stormys in the world because I believe that people who are not part of the solution are part of the problem think about it if you see someone being bullied and you walk away aren’t you saying to the bully that what he or she is doing is okay. Are you a hero?
