If you’re alive, there’s a purpose for your life.

It’s 7: 24 PM on day 564 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, feed myself an avocado for breakfast, drink tea by myself, go to the dentist – hopefully my bleached tooth will turn white by Wednesday and I can have a permanent filling put in – watch TV, feed myself vegetable biryani for lunch, watch some more TV, feed myself sweet potatoes with salad for dinner and brush my teeth once more.
Yesterday laying in bed I asked myself what being different has taught me to which I answered being different has taught me that underneath all the labels that society puts on us we are all human and that is what I want the world to know everybody is equal nobody is more important than anybody else regardless of who you are or what you do. Do you know what the purpose for your life is?
Hey, Neethu was one of my grade 8s way back when so I found your blog in a roundabout way. Your blog is super, super inspiring. I study medicine and I hope to one day be the kind of doctor that recognises everybody’s humanity, rather than just whatever their physique presents with. Good for you: keep up the great work.
Hey,
Small world 🙂 thank you for the compliment I have no doubt that you will be the kind of doctor you want to be. Good luck with your studies.
Yours truly,
Nisha
