Day 2856: July 9-16 Goals

Every Monday is a chance to start a new life, so use it.

It’s 1 : 23 PM on day 2856 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and hang out with family

Last Monday I set some goals and today I will again be evaluating myself to measure my progress and I’ll be setting some goals for the coming week as well. Take a look:

July 2-9 Goals Self-Evaluation

  1. Continue to be kind, honest and generous [tried]
  2. Be the best Supersidekick to my Superhero Catherine Constantinides [tried]
  3. Spend time outside as often as I can [did]
  4. Finish reading When Dimple Met Rishi
  5. Learn 7+ new things [didn’t more often than I did]
  6. Write done 7 beautiful moments – 1 for every day of the week [did more often than not]
  7. Eat or drink something new [had homemade rusks from our neighbour ]
  8. Use social media to showcase the ability of differently-abled people and teach that Different IS COOL [I tried]

Highlights Of The Week

  • Spending time with K – that girl is my sun and my moon [I had planned for us to do a community service thing together but we couldn’t find the place, I got the wrong phone number for the place.. everything that could go wrong did and yet that girl still thought the world of me and with that a piece of my heart was forever hers]
  • Meeting Donae Carelse Goosen – Founder of the Norman Goosen Memorial Soup Kitchen and  a lovely lady in my city who feeds the children and elderly in her area on a weekly basis
  • Participating in Dischem Pharmacy’s #MillionComforts Campaign which provides school girls with sanitary pads
  • Superhero Catherine Constantinides making into News24’s 100 Young Mandelas of the Future list [I think it’s very appropriate that Catherine has been dubbed a Mandela of the future she is the best of humanity her humility and kindness is breath-taking – I’ve never shared this publicly but last year my helper passed out on the floor while my parents were at work I tried calling dad but wasn’t getting through so I quickly sent Catherine a private message on Twitter asking her to quickly phone my father and tell him to come home ASAP she paused everything she was doing, called my dad and stayed online with me until help arrived I would later find out when I messaged her she was organizing a dinner happening that night which a South African Minister would be attending AND STILL SHE DROPPED EVERYTHING TO HELP ME I was blown away]
  • Calling a friend to say happy birthday
