“I don’t want to be thought of as the “girl who was shot by the Taliban” but the “girl who fought for education.” This is the cause to which I want to devote my life.” ― Malala Yousafzai, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban
It’s 12 : 01 PM on day 1749 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Haggai 1, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing – Only male humpbacks produce the species’ distinctive song, the most complex in the animal kingdom. Some scientists believe the song is meant to attract females, but others believe it may be an “acoustic display,” serving the same purpose as horns or antlers. – and promote my Educate Generations campaign– Simon Magid and Wayne Mansfield donated $36 and $18 respectively yesterday (thanks so much Simon and Wayne) which brings my total raised to $3 199 .
As you may or may not know Malala Yousafzai turns 18 on July 12 I’m hoping to get 18 people to donate $18 to my campaign benefiting the Malala Fund in honour of Malala’s upcoming birthday (Simon donated $36 and Wayne donated $18 so we only need 15 more people to donate $18 each to reach the 18 For 18 goal). Please contribute if you can your ongoing support is very much appreciated as always https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=355198 .
