I can’t change myself for other people – that’s what I realized yesterday.
It’s 12 : 20 PM on day 1680 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Ezekiel 39, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – A tiger’s roar can be heard as far as 2 mi (3 km) away– feed myself for an avocado sandwich and a banana breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign–$2 700 raised so far SO GRATEFUL .
Yesterday I was interacting with someone and I debated with myself about whether or not to mention my campaign because I know some people tune me out when I do in the end I decided to mention it because it is what I’m currently passionate about and I couldn’t change myself for fear of being ignored.
If you can’t speak what’s on your heart, that’s a problem.
People will debate about timing, place, style and approach of how we can share it (what’s on our heart) effectively – for all the right and wrong reasons.
Are you asking for a donation or just sharing about what you are doing?
Asking for a donation could come off as greasy – especially if you have not given yourself to them, supported them, encouraged them in their hopes, causes, etc.
If you do what you do in a spirit of love, you will be giving much to each person whom you have asked for help. Or from whom you have received help.
Just sharing what I’m doing hoping people will be moved to donate without me having to ask 🙂
