Life is like the stock market – that’s what I realized this morning.
It’s 1 : 33 PM on day 1439 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Psalm 127, publish my Disability of the Day feature, stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for breakfast and read an online newspaper – what’s with the war between Israel and Palestine I’m not taking any sides I just want peace 2 ,087 people have already died in 46 days of conflict I pray that those engaged in the war come to their senses before the death toll rises.
This morning I realized life is like the stock market if a company has solid fundamentals and is managed properly no matter how bad things look it will turn around eventually in the same way if you’re a good person who tries to do the right thing no matter how bad things look you will succeed in the end.
I would like you to consider these things further.
Generally speaking, profit determines whether or not companies succeed or fail. If a company makes a sufficient margin in profit, it continues to operate. If it can do so consistently and predictably for the foreseeable future (say five years), it is considered successful. Those are the fundamentals of business. Stock markets(shareholding) add additional factors (and pressures) such as the confidence, perceptions and ambitions of stakeholders.
God also expects us to be profitable in terms of increasing the abundance, bounty and action of His good will. Our success or failure as the children of God depends much on what we do with the grace and gifts which we receive from above. And as I reflect on what God would considerable profitable, I recall Luke 17 and tremble with Fear of the Lord.
“He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he?”
I see what you’re saying but in order to make a profit fundamentals such as revenue and growth need to be solid
