“People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.” – Simon Sinek, How great leaders inspire action
It’s 1 : 06 PM on day 1191 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth, read 1 Chronicles 24, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself tomato, onion and feta scrambled egg with bread for breakfast, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings and hang out with my family.
A couple of months ago I watched Simon Sinek: How great leaders inspire action – a Ted Talk that explains why some people are successful and others aren’t – in this talk Simon says people don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it I can tell you from personal experience that what he says is true when I tell people what I’m doing I get a lukewarm reaction but when I tell people why I’m doing it everybody is keen to help.
