Help people with grace – that’s what I learned today.
It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 1166 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, feed myself All Bran Flakes and boiled egg for breakfast, go to the Orthotist to have my new wheelchair’s belt adjusted – people see a wheelchair that a person is sitting on and assume that that particular wheelchair was made to fit that particular person in reality you order a wheelchair, it arrives and then it’s tailored to suit your needs and preferences being wheelchair-bound is a such hassle sometimes, like today, I would give anything to have problems that other twenty-two-year-olds have – read 2 Kings 24, publish my Disability of the Day feature and practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles.
This morning something happened that made me realize when helping people it’s important to do so with grace just because somebody needs your help it doesn’t give you license to treat them like dirt. When you help people do you do you do so with grace?
