Day 890

Take each day as it comes– that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 4 : 42 PM on day 890 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to try to clean myself in the bathroom, brush my teeth, take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, read Exodus 10, pray, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, work,   feed myself bread and baked beans for breakfast and stretch my hamstrings.

This morning after trying to clean myself in the bathroom it dawned on me that my survival was completely dependent on other people it’s scary to think that if the people in my life disappeared I wouldn’t know which way was up I can feed myself but I need someone to get me food from the kitchen, I can change the clothes on my upper body but I need someone to get me clothes from the cupboard, I can clean myself in the bathroom – sort of – but I need someone to actually take me to the bathroom and put me on the toilet… basically I can do a lot but I still need a lot of help, having said that, I’m going to put a smile on my dial and take each day as it comes because whatever my challenges I’m still alive which is more than some people can say.  Do you live too far back in the past, too far forward in the future and not enough in the present?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

pls listen to the song “One step at a time” by Jordin Sparks. It’s a beautiful song which tells us to take things step by step
