You’ve got to have a sense of humour about things – that’s what I keep learning 🙂
It’s 4 : 30 PM on day 828 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to publish my Disability of the Day feature, stretch my hamstrings, brush my teeth, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast, practice typing with both hands and watch TV.
Today while in the bathroom I thought to myself with a laugh you know your life is hard when you have to pray for God to help you go to the bathroom – because Cerebral Palsy leaves people immobile for the most part it takes longer for food to get through the digestive system – it is what it is and I’m going to have a sense of humour about it. Do you sometimes laugh to keep from crying?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
Laughing to keep from crying could be a cry of desperation/exasperation! I tend to combine the laughing and crying …. I laugh ’till the tears roll down my face.
True it could be sign of desperation/exasperation but for me it’s making light of the challenges that come with my disability 🙂
