Happiness has little to do with money– that’s what I keep learning 🙂
It’s 4 : 11 PM on day 764 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice typing with both hands, publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, stretch my hamstrings, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and apple for brunch.
Today while working it dawned on me that I was more unhappy in that moment then I was when I was earning R200 per month I don’t think it had anything to do with the job I love my job it exposes me to things I would otherwise not be exposed to it’s just that from the moment I started earning money I vowed that I would give a quarter of my pay cheque to charity and I always mean to but something always comes up I feel like I’ve become one of those people who makes money and stores it which is exactly the opposite of who I wanted to be I wanted to make money so that I could feed the hungry, clothe the naked… I really wanted to use the money I made to make a difference. Is your happiness directly proportional to how much money you make?
