Exclusion and not disability is the problem – that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 4 : 46 PM on day 727 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, drink milk by myself, go to church – I really liked today’s sermon it was titled Healing the reverend explained that God can and does heal people but not always I really got that because had God healed me the way I asked him to I wouldn’t be doing all the things I’m doing 🙂 – feed myself bread and baked beans for breakfast, give our housekeeper computer lessons – I asked her if she knew how to use a computer and when she said no I taught her the basics (it was wonderful to see her discover things like YouTube) prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature and feed myself rice mixed with potatoes that our housekeeper made for lunch – she asked me if i wanted some of what she was eating and I said yes I hope I taught my brother that it’s cool to try new things 🙂
Today I came across a refreshing video about the social model of disability. Take a look:
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
What a wonderful video, so insightful!
I think it’s great that you are teaching your housekeeper to use the computer – this way you contribute to her life as well!
Glad you liked it. It’s no big deal it was the least I could do everybody needs to pitch in and contribute somehow 🙂
