Don’t be afraid to make a mess you might learn a lot and have fun too – that’s what I keep learning 🙂
It’s 2 : 44 PM on day 708 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg for breakfast, drink coffee by myself, publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, watch TV and listen to music – I still love Jesse McCartney‘s music years after I first heard him I can relate to his songs probably because we are close in age.
Today I was thirsty so I asked our housekeeper to get me some water in a glass she asked yes in a glass is fine I replied knowing how much harder it would be for me to drink from a glass as opposed to drinking from a coffee mug like I usually did my mom God bless her heart makes everything easier for me to do so that I don’t make a mess but what I don’t think she understands is that I learn to do things by making a mess and trying again just like I did today with the glass of water I spilled a little bit but I did it. Are you afraid of making a mess?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
You are so right – sometimes we are so afraid of failing that we don’t try, and that way we really just shortchange ourselves. Keep on keeping on, Nisha!
I will thanks 🙂 I think I’m not afraid to fail because I know that failure is an event not a person – I will fail sometimes but I will never be a failure.
This one hit home for me.
Since my hands shake all
the time and when i go to
eat i drop allot of things
off the fork or spoon.
Our kids will ask if i want help
and i will tell them no. Some times
I think I send the wrong message
to them because I’ll tell them god
gave me 2 hands and 2 feet and I’m
going to use them.
I can so understand this post.
Hugs my friend
I’m sure your kids understand that you love them even when you don’t want their help 🙂 I’m glad you could relate to this post.
