Day 697

Kids say what adults are thinking– that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 5 : 08 PM on day 697 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, brush my teeth, feed myself Batura and curry  for breakfast, drink  juice by myself,   work, finish reading See Jane Score by Rachel Gibson – it’s a sweet book but it’s not for anyone under 18 – feed myself steak potato chips and garlic bread for lunch  and watch TV.

Yesterday my brother and I were joking around and he said to me lightheartedly Cerebral Palsy kid my parents heard that and totally freaked out to which my brother said I was kidding it’s been twenty years she’s gotten over it unlike you the words that came out of his mouth shocked me I had been thinking it almost my whole life but didn’t dare say it because I didn’t want to minimize the challenges my parents faced as parents of a “special needs” child.   Has a kid in your life ever said what you were thinking?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
