It’s my job to reassure people that I’m fine and happy in spite of my “disability” – that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 8: 10 PM on day 650 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg for breakfast, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, prepare and publish my Kid of the Week feature, work, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, work some more and feed myself Greek yogurt mixed with bananas for dinner.
This afternoon I was chatting to our housekeeper (the one who works for us on weekends) in the middle of our conversation she goes you speak so well I wish you could get up she was so sweet about it all I could think to say was I’m fine even if I can’t walk now that I look back on it I realize that although I hate repeating myself it is my responsibility to make people feel at ease with me by saying over and over again I’m fine and happy. Do you find having to reassure people about your well-being annoying?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
