Day 647

If you don’t know what your definition  of success is you can’t achieve it– that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 7: 17 PM on day 647 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, work,  prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature,  work some more, watch TV, feed myself  sweet potato, tapioca and fish curry  for lunch, watch some more TV, feed myself an grilled chicken and bread for dinner and brush my teeth once more.

Today I was doing something  – I forgot what – and suddenly my definition of success came to me I realized that I would be happy even if I didn’t become a millionaire as long as I was independent and helped as many people as I possibly could. Do you know what your definition of success is?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

There is a poem that is often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson. Apparently he did not write it, but I really like it anyway:

To laugh often and much;To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
