Day 1891: Me, Jennifer Lawrence and Labels

Look past people’s labels and see the human beings– that’s my message to the world.

It’s  12 : 02 PM on day 1801 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 8, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  – The ripe oranges that are unplucked from the trees, may turn to green due to a process called re-greening. This effect does not hamper the taste and the oranges nutritional value.– have breakfast,  work on my future project and do some work for my real job (which i’m not at liberty to discuss).

A few days ago I read an article about Jennifer Lawrence in which she said she needed to meet a guy who had no idea who she was because all the guys she meets treat her badly or differently because of who she is and although I’m not a celebrity I could relate to what she was saying when most people look at her they probably see the “celebrity” similarly when most people look at me they see my “disability” in both cases people miss the human being behind the label sometimes I feel like I should have give me a shot I’m human just like you stamped on my forehead it’s such a lonely experience when the outside world doesn’t see the human inside you.

Day 1890: The story in the struggle

Maybe the story is in my struggle – that’s what I’m starting to realize.

It’s  12 : 10 PM on day 1800 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 7, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Credulous; Credulity [cre·du·li·ty] n. A tendency to be too ready to believe that something is real or true. “A credulous rumor.”– have breakfast and work on my future project.

Recently I’ve started  to realize maybe the story is in my struggle maybe people are meant to see me struggle and know that one can still be happy and joyful and make a contribution to the world even when life is extra hard.

Day 1889: 21 Icons season 3 episode 11: Phindile Sithole-Spong

At weddings and at New Years, Greeks break a pomegranate on the ground for good luck. – have breakfast and work on my future project.

Yesterday I watched season 3 episode 11 of 21 Icons featuring HIV Activist Phindile Sithole-Spong I love that Phindile has taken it upon herself to rebrand HIV .Watch “21 Icons : Phindile Sithole-Spong : Short Film” below:

Day 1888: To Paris With Love From South Africa

There is a small percentage of the world’s population that is the definition of evil– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s  12 :  17  PM on day 1898 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing –Sentient [sen·tient] adj. Characterized by sensation and consciousness. Able to perceive or feel things: “Sentient life forms.”–  have breakfast,  work on my future project and help mom wrap Christmas presents for my current local project.

Yesterday morning I awoke to the news of the Paris Attacks needless to say I was (and still am) shocked and heartbroken I can’t wrap my head around the fact that a group of “people” came together to intentionally inflict pain on other human beings I could live to be a thousand and I still won’t understand. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the people of Paris please know that you are not alone the world mourns with you and strongly condemns these barbaric acts of violence.

Also to the people of Syria and Lebanon please know that your suffering is not forgotten I hope and I pray that one day all who are from Syria and Lebanon can return home and live in peace.

Day 1887: Fun and Me

You don’t always have to be doing something world-changing sometimes it’s okay to do things just for fun– that’s what I realized last night.

It’s  12 : 36 PM on day 1797 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 4, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Definitions for inconnu 1) a person who is unknown; stranger. 2. Also called sheefish. a game fish, Stenodusleucichthys, of fresh or brackish northernwaters. – have breakfast and go with mom to buy stuff for my current local project – my mom is so adorable the whole time we were at the shop she was worried about what people would think of her making me hold the shopping basket (because you know she couldn’t push me and the big trolley at the same time) i couldn’t care less what people thought LOL 😉

Last night I realized you don’t always have to be doing something world-changing sometimes it’s okay to do things just for fun sometimes it’s cool just to hang out watching cheesy movies, listening to music or reading a good book.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the Paris Attacks. I stand with the world as we call for an end to violence and terrorism. An attack against one country is an attack against all countries because there are no borders humanity stands united.

Day 1885: How do you make a difference without spending a cent? Read this and find out

If all you do every day is make one person feel important and special then your life is not wasted – that’s my message to the world.

It’s  12 : 00 PM on day 1795 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 2, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  – Cherries were introduced into Britain by the Romans in the first century AD.– have breakfast and work on my future project.

Yesterday I realized if all I do every day is make one person feel important and special then I’ve made a difference.

Day 1884: Forgive yourself

You’re human when you you’re less than perfect forgive yourself – that’s my message to myself and the world.

It’s  12 :  15 PM on day 1794 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Roman’s 1, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Strawberries come from a plant called ‘fragaria’.– work on my future project, have breakfast and record and upload a birthday message for my friend Sebastian.

A few day ago I caught myself judging someone and I was so hard on myself but now I realize like all humans I will at times judge and do things that are not consistent with who I strive to be which is a sad but true fact of life but I will not accept my judgmental nature instead I will fight to become non-judgemental by acknowledging the moments in which I’m being judgemental and sincerely seeking repentance.

Day 1883: The ANC comes first, not the country? I think not President Zuma

The government serves THE PEOPLE not the other way around – that’s my message to politicians worldwide.

It’s  12 :  37 PM on day 1793 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 28, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Perfidious [per·fid·i·ous] adj. Deceitful and untrustworthy. “A perfidious relationship.”– go with the parents to buy stuff for my current local project – now all that’s left to be done is to wrap it and give it [yay] (thanks to my friends Wayne, Stan and Laurieann who made this all possible) –   have breakfast and work on my future project.

Recently I read The ANC comes first, not the country – Zuma and I was OUTRAGED that the President of my country would think AND SAY that his party came before our country no political party anywhere in the world comes before the people it’s supposed to serve it just doesn’t work like that. President Zuma the ANC WILL NEVER come before the country because the people of the country voted the ANC into power and should they choose to they can vote the ANC out of power too.

Day 1881: Suffers from Cerebral Palsy?

Language is very powerful the words we use to describe people could define them if they let it – that’s what I want the media to know.

3) little known; obscure: a recondite fact.–  have breakfast and work on my future project.

A few days ago I read an article about a great young woman who just happens to have Cerebral Palsy in the article it was said that she “suffers from” Cerebral Palsy now while it is true that a life with Cerebral Palsy is harder than a life without I think most people with Cerebral Palsy would agree that we are not sufferers of any kind we don’t wake up thinking I have Cerebral Palsy my life sucks we get up and face the day like everybody else working around any extra obstacles that we may encounter.
