Day 2030: Night by Elie Wiesel

“Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed….Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God Himself. Never.” ― Elie Wiesel, Night

It’s 12  : 25 PM on day 2030 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 7,  learn one new thing –Ostrich has the biggest eyes in the whole animal kingdom. Its eye is bigger than its brain. Ostriches don’t hide their head in the sand. They will lay their head on the ground if they sense a danger.- have breakfast,  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $4 121 only $2 129 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ).

Yesterday I finished reading Night by Elie Wiesel – a horrifying yet well-written book about Elie Wiesel’s time in the concentration camps during the Holocaust – in this book one sees the worst in humanity on display and the strength of the human spirit. I am FOREVER CHANGED. Thank you Elie Wiesel.

Day 2029: “Up All Night” by Owl City

You were my clarity, I swear
All alone in a daydream
Yeah there was magic in the air
And you were right here beside me
Held down like an angel with no wings
I wanna fly again
I just can’t get you off my mind
And now I’m gonna be up all night
Whoa oh oh oh

– Owl City, “Up All Night”

It’s 12  : 00 PM on day 2029 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 6,  learn one new thing –Since penguins don’t leave the nesting areas to feed, some species go through the entire courtship, nesting, and incubation period without food or water. For male king penguins, this period lasts for 55 days. For the male emperor penguin, the fast can last up to 120 days.- have breakfast,  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $4 121 only $2 129 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ).

Yesterday I listened to “Up All Night” by Owl City and I just loved the music and the lyrics so I’m sharing it. Listen to “Up All Night” below:

Day 2028: Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd on Dancing with the Stars

There’s NO such thing as can’t in this life – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11  : 00 AM on day 2028 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 5, have breakfast, learn one new thing –Crocodiles are the ultimate survivors. Having arisen some 200 million years ago, they have outlived the dinosaurs by some 65 million years. Even humans, the most fearsome predators ever to stalk the Earth, have failed to force into extinction any of the 23 species of crocodilians. – and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $4 121 only $2 129 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ).

Recently I watched clips of Nyle DiMarco – the winner of America’s Next Top Model who happens to be deaf – dancing on Dancing with the Stars which made me realize yet again that there’s NO such thing as can’t in this life (I mean I’m unable to walk and Nyle is unable to hear those are medical facts every can’t that is not a medical fact is just an opinion). Watch Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd doing the Cha Cha below:

Day 2027: Good Things

When you do good things good things happen – that’s what I was reminded of today.

It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 2027 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Revelation 4,  have breakfast, learn one new thing – The Nike clothing brand is named after the Greek goddess of victory. The winged goddess Nike sat at the side of Zeus. Her presence symbolized victory, and she was said to have presided over some of history’s earliest battles. –   have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Anatoli donated $15 and today someone who would prefer to remain anonymous   donated $250 (thanks so much  to you both :) ) which brings the total raised to raised $4 121 only $2 129  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today something happened that reminded me that when you do good things good things happen you shouldn’t do good things so that good things happen but it does work like that when you do good things good things happen.

Day 2025: Everybody’s Highest Calling

Everybody’s highest calling is to serve – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 30 PM on day 2025 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 2,  have breakfast, learn one new thing – The tongue is a muscular organ in the mouth. The tongue is covered with moist, pink tissue called mucosa. Tiny bumps called papillae give the tongue its rough texture. Thousands of taste buds cover the surfaces of the papillae.  – have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday I donated $34 of my birthday money (in memory of my deceased grandparents, Joesph uncle, sisi Virginia and Graham Constantinides) which brings the total raised to raised $3 856 only $2 394  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today I was thinking about life and it dawned on me that the happiest people in life serve every day whether it be through their work or in their spare time which is great because I think everybody’s highest calling is to serve how they serve depends entirely on their individual skills and talents but the fact remains everybody’s highest calling is to serve.

Day 2024: Kindness and Money

Kindness doesn’t cost a cent– that’s my message to the world

It’s 11 : 44 AM on day 2024 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 1,  learn one new thing –The Leaning Tower of Pisa took 344 years to build, beginning in August 1173. It began to lean in 1178 once construction on the second floor had begun. The lean was due to one side sinking into the soft ground. – have breakfast, go shopping with mom, and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $3 822 only $2 428 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ).

.

Recently seeing that my neighbour was going through a hard time I told some of my Twitter followers about her and asked them to write her short messages of support (I’m going to print it out and ask mom to drop it off) I know it won’t bring her husband back but if it makes her feel a little less alone it’s so worth it small acts of kindness could possibly pull people out of the depths of despair.

Day 2023: “Smoke Filled Room” by Mako

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” – Billy Joel

Day 2021: The Theory of Everything

There should be no boundaries to human endeavour. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there’s life, there is hope. – Stephen Hawking, The Theory of Everything

It’s 12 : 19 PM on day 2021 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 John 1,  have breakfast, learn one new thing –Since pitch is such a close proxy for frequency, it is almost entirely determined by how quickly the sound wave is making the air vibrate and has almost nothing to do with the intensity, or amplitude, of the wave.  –   have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Laura donated $40 and Julie  donated $25 (thanks so much Laura and Julie :) ) which brings the total raised to raised $3 822 only $2 428  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Yesterday I watched The Theory of Everything – a movie about the life of Stephen Hawking – Stephen Hawking is proof that one’s physical abilities (or lack thereof) doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with one’s intellectual capacity I liked the movie anyone who loves stories of triumph should definitely watch this movie.

The smallest acts of kindness take up the most space in your heart – that’s what I keep realizing.

In the wild, the average life span of a crow is 7-8 years. –   have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Samuel Kochukanayathil donated $50,  a person who i think would prefer to remain anonymous donated $25, Ellyn Harris donated $25 and Jim Mahar donated $25  (thanks so much everyone 🙂 ) which brings the total raised to raised $3 757 only $2 493  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).
