Day 3114: Where are your footrests?

Recently whenever we’re at the mall people have been coming up to us asking where my footrests are (I don’t like using them because it makes the wheelchair harder to push) it warms my heart that people who don’t know me are willing to put themselves out on the limb to make sure I’m comfortable

Yesterday on my birthday I was reminded that love makes the world go around people came, called and bought gifts but my Superhero Catherine Constantinides stole my heart and soul she called 3 different times – morning, noon and night – she was with world leaders and still the person she most wanted to speak to was me that warmed my heart and when I thought she couldn’t outdo her own kindness she video-called me in the evening with a cupcake ,a candle and a special guest to help her blow the birthday candle out…I was so moved. She understood that she was my greatest gift so she gave me the gift of herself…it was the sweetest, kindest thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Thank you Superhero i will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS love you

Today is Human Rights Day here in South Africa – a day commemorating the 1960 Sharpville Massacre which killed 69 people and injured 180 others– every day I endeavour to live in a way that enhances the freedom of others and in so doing hope to honour the fallen heroes of yesterday. Thank you to the heroes of the 1960 Sharpville Massacre.
