It’s day 462 of my journey towards independence and day 12 of vacation we want to church for a special service in honor of my grandfather – the denomination of Christianity my family belongs to –  Yacoba – believes in praying for the soul of our dead loved ones every year usually – not this year – on the anniversary of their death. The people here are so ignorant apparently – my brother told me –  a woman at the church asked my dad you have to kids right … a girl and a boy to which he gave no answer – I don’t  know why – and preceded to  ask him if he saw the girl in the wheelchair to which he said that’s my daughter and walked away unfortunately that’s not my first experience of ignorance since being in this country we went to visit my dad’s cousin yesterday and just as we were about to leave another one of my dad’s cousins – whom I don’t know –  came up to my car window with her daughter and said it’s okay all you have to do is pray … do you pray  God will take all your ‘sickness’ away.
