“Any time women come together with a collective intention, it’s a powerful thing. Whether it’s sitting down making a quilt, in a kitchen preparing a meal, in a club reading the same book, or around the table playing cards, or planning a birthday party, when women come together with a collective intention, magic happens. “ – Phylicia Rashad

Today is International Women’s Day and in honour of that I would like to in part my little wisdom to all the little girls in the world who will grow up to be women in the future, especially my 10-month old niece Maya.
4 Things Every Future Woman Should Know
- You are enough – you don’t have to be anything other than who are. All that you are and will become is enough for those you love and it’s also enough for the world.
- There are enough opportunities in the world for every person who is willing to work to succeed – you don’t have to grind another woman down to elevate yourself. More can be achieved through collaboration than through competition
- You are more than your body – in today’s world there will be some backward people who will tell you that you are here to be seen and not heard speak your mind loud and proud anyway and invest in knowledge so that when you open your mouth people will know that with that pretty face and beautiful heart also comes a brilliant mind
- Find your tribe – It’s very important to surround yourself with people who match your values. Everybody needs someone to look up to my someone is Superhero Catherine Constantinides because she is kind, honest, courageous, hard-working, humble and generous (the way she treats people is something to behold she makes everybody feel like the most important people on the planet – whenever I’m with her I find myself just watching her interact with people hoping she doesn’t notice that I can’t stop staring)
