Day 2441: Important Yet Unimportant

Each one of us is so important and yet so unimportant at the same time – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 8 : 50 AM on day 2441 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   have breakfast, read John 3: 5 and learn a new word – Definitions for purloin 1. to take dishonestly; steal; filch; pilfer. 2. to commit theft; steal.

Last night laying in bed thinking about the beauty of nature and I remember thinking the sky is so blue the trees are so green the same God who created all that also thought to create me needless to say I felt very special I guess because I am special to God it’s very weird I know the world wouldn’t be the same without me but I also know the world would still keep spinning without me…I am so very important and yet so very unimportant at the same time.

Day 2440: Thoughts on humanity, fame and love | Shah Rukh Khan

“The people of this ancient land embraced me in their limitless love, and I’ve learned from these people that neither power nor poverty can make your life more magical or less tortuous. I’ve learned from the people of my country that the dignity of a life, a human being, a culture, a religion, a country actually resides in its ability for grace and compassion. I’ve learned that whatever moves you, whatever urges you to create, to build, whatever keeps you from failing, whatever helps you survive, is perhaps the oldest and the simplest emotion known to mankind, and that is love. ” – Shah Rukh Khan

It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 2440 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,   have breakfast, read Acts 4: 31  and learn a new word – Definitions for moggy

Yesterday I watched a Ted Talk by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan aptly titled “Thoughts on humanity, fame and love” I have watched his movies since forever but until I watched this Ted Talk I never knew how enlightened and genuinely funny he was. Lasting for a markedly brief time: “The ephemeral nature of fashion trends.” 2. Living or lasting only for a day, as with certain plants or insects.

Recently there have been three wonderful new additions to my extended family (I’m a proud aunty to a niece and two nephews (so overjoyed about that)) which has got me thinking about the future of our world and the responsibility we have to the youngest amongst us it’s up to us to teach them that nothing they become will ever be more important than being good human beings.

Day 2438: Right Where I’m Supposed To Be

I am right where I’m supposed to be at this stage in my life (even though sometimes it doesn’t feel like it) – that’s what I know.

This morning I realized that I am right where I’m supposed to be at this stage in my life because every experience is preparing me for the greater plan that God has had for my life even before I was conceived.

As you may or may not know May is Africa Month and living in Africa it’s an opportunity for me to show the world things about Africa that they seldom get to see this continent is so much more than poverty and disease it’s hope, it’s love, it’s compassion , it’s generosity, it’s joy, it’s diversity, it’s untapped potential … Africa is me I am Africa.

Today a person with criminal intent jumped over our fence and was roaming around our yard (I saw him walk across our yard but he did not see me) thankfully security was called and nobody was harmed but I continue to be amazed when I escape these situations completely unharmed it’s like there’s a veil of protection that surrounds me I am forever grateful.

Day 2433: Difficult Yet Meaningful Things

This morning I realized that the things that require effort are the ones often worth doing and are the most fulfilling which I know is what most people say but it really is true doing the easy thing is easy so we don’t take pride in it but one can take lots of pride in doing difficult yet meaningful things with God in us.

Today is a rather gloomy and miserable day in my part of the world but that is inconsequential because I’m going to bring my own sunshine by being the sunshine in other people’s day.

Day 2431: Limitless Mindset in a Limited Body

My mindset is limitless but my body is not – that’s what I have realized.

Yesterday I realized that my mindset is limitless but my body is not which is incredibly frustrating I know that I, as a person, can do anything but since some of the parts of my body are not as functional as they could be (though I’m incredibly grateful for my health) I’m forced to pump the brakes on my limitless mindset.
