Day 2650: The Price of Trying Something New

The price of trying something new is the possibility of doing or saying the wrong thing– that’s what I realized recently.

It’s 10 : 30 AM on day 2650 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Isaiah 9:6 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –-raised $5 226 only $7 274 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Recently I realized that the price of trying something new is the possibility of doing or saying the wrong thing but doing or saying the wrong thing with good intent is better than doing nothing at all.

Day 2649: Great Moments and Me

Great moments don’t just happen you have to create them – that’s what 2017 has taught me.

It’s 12 : 10 PM on day 2649 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Jeremiah 23:5-6 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Zarina Walele of Zarina Walele Attorneys donated $100 which brings the total raised to $5 226 only $7 274 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

As I look back on 2017 I realize that its greatest lesson to me has been that great moments don’t just happen you have to create them – all my favourite moments of 2017 I created with effort and intent whilst remain connected to God.

Today I realized that the best kind of kindness is kindness that takes effort because you know how hard you worked and how much love you put into it.

Day 2645: Feelings Vs. Commitments

Today being my parents 27^th wedding anniversary I’ve been thinking a lot about the differences between the West and the East when it comes to marriage my uncle said it best when he said In the West people marry the one they love while in the East people love the one they marry it’s not a choice I think I would make because I’ve lived in the Western World all my life but there’s something to be said for marrying for something other than feelings.

Day 2643: KFC’s Add Hope Campaign, Recognizing Opportunities and Knowing Your Values

Opportunities to do good are everywhere you just have to be observant – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 2 : 15 PM on day 2643 of my journey towards independence and I managed to watch TV with my sister, pray, read Genesis 49:9-10, have breakfast, go with my parents to drop my sister at the airport – she’s off to a wedding for the weekend – and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 976 only $7 524 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday my sister, my brother, my niece (cousin’s daughter) and I were at KFC and I once again noticed the “Add Hope” signage – in every KFC in South Africa customers have an option to pay extra to help feed hungry kids – and my sister turned to me knowingly and asked how many kids do you want to feed? to which I replied three – one for every Varghese present – sometimes you don’t have to go out of your way to make a difference sometimes the opportunities are right in front of your eyes but in order to recognize them you need to know who you are and what your values are (I know I am a Varghese and I know I stand for kindness, generosity, compassion, honesty, loyalty, justice and fairness and I carry that with me every moment of every day)

Day 2641: Raging Against the Dying of my Light

The difference between success and failure is persistence – that’s what I’ve been reminded of.

Today every part of me is saying screw it why am I the only who cares I have problems too but I’m going to rage, rage against the dying of my light I refuse to go gently into the night – I’m not just another number in the population statistic God created me to be extraordinary and I am going to continue behaving accordingly (even when every part of me wants to quit).

Day 2639: Grateful Faces Unseen

You will not always be able to see the grateful faces in the process of touching lives and that’s okay – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 1 : 14 PM on day 2639 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Peter 3:10, and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –-raised $4 976 only $7 524 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Yesterday doing community work I realized that you will not always be able to see the grateful faces in the process of touching lives and that’s okay sometimes you just have to settle for knowing that you tried to do good with good intentions.

Day 2638: Expect Not Perfection

Expect everything not to go to plan and prepare to be surprised if everything does go to plan– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 27 PM on day 2638 of my journey towards independence and I managed to spend time with my family doing something special (i will not elaborate as to what it is because some things are just between God, me and my family I’m determined of that – thank you daddy and mommy for driving me there even though it meant you went to work a little late), pray, read Job 40:1-2 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –-raised $4 976 only $7 524 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far).

Today I was somewhere doing something and things did not work out exactly how I planned but I was okay because I had expected that some things may not work out according to plan

Day 2637: Why I Don’t Want A Stress Free Life

Today it dawned on me that life without a little stress is no life at all because anything worth doing comes with stress.

Day 2636: The Blessing That Was Once A Curse

Today I realized that what is now seen as a curse may later be seen as a blessing I was once the one overlooked and the one who most people thought would not make something of herself but now my parents are quite literally known all three of their children it’s so much fun for me to see how happy my mother is about how my life is turning out she saves every newspaper article, every video and every audio about my work and shares them with EVERYONE almost as if to say see world, you were totally wrong about my daughter .
