Day 1966: Happy Birthday Mommy

“There is no one who takes care of us as lovingly as our mother does. She is our living God.” ― Mohtasham Usmani

It’s 12 : 58 PM on day 1966 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Colossians 3, learn one new thing –Dry thunderstorm refers to thunder and lightning that occur without bringing rain to the ground. In fact, the thunder-bearing clouds do produce rain but the rain droplets have evaporated in the air before reaching the ground. – have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign –  yesterday Athira chechi and chachen donated $50 and today Liesel donated $16 ( thank you SO MUCH to chechi and chachen and Liesel your support means A LOT :) )  which brings my total raised to $1 682 only $4 568 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO  GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ) .

Today is my mother’s birthday she and I have our moments like any other mother and child but for the most part I feel like my siblings and I won the mom lottery she has more faith and strength in her one pinkie than most people will ever have. Happy birthday mommy. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for us. Your legacy is the three of us and the countless lives you have impacted in your career as a teacher. I strive every day to be a good reflection of you and dad and to live out the values that you have tried to instil in us.

Day 1964: What is love?

When someone else’s happiness is your happiness and their sadness is your sadness that’s love– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 45 PM on day 1964 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Colossians 1 , learn one new thing –According to a tradition believed to have been derived from the Romans, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand ring finger because there was thought to be a vein in the finger, referred to as the ‘Vena Amoris’ or the ‘Vein of Love’ said to be directly connected to the heart. – have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign –raised $1 616 so far only $4 634 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far:) ).

Day 1963: Blessed Beyond Measure

I’m blessed beyond measure – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11 : 29 AM on day 1963 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Philippians 4, learn one new thing – When we shiver, our bodies are doing the opposite of sweating. Sweating cools the body by putting a layer of liquid on the skin. Shivering tightens the skin and shakes the muscles, a process that conserves and generates heat.– have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Amit Abraham donated $6 and then another donation  of $250 was made in the name of Benjamin and Amelia ( thank you SO MUCH to both Amit and Benjamin and Amelia 🙂 )  which brings my total raised to $1 616 only $4 634 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO  GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ) .

Thank you God for blessing me so richly I will try every day to become the person that you created me to be.

Day 1962: The purpose of death for the living

All death serves as a reminder of the temporariness of life – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 15 PM on day 1962 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Philippians 3, learn one new thing –The average person can hear sounds down to about 0 dB, the level of rustling leaves. Some people with very good hearing can hear sounds down to -15 dB. If a sound reaches 85 dB or stronger, it can cause permanent damage to your hearing. – have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign –raised $1 360 so far only $4 890 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ) .

When I’m with you
When I’m with you

Yesterday listening to “Army” by Ellie Goulding I couldn’t help thinking about my army (the people who are always there for me). To my army: Thank you for always being there for me and supporting me I would be nowhere without you I love you all. Listen to “Army” by Ellie Goulding below:

Day 1960: 21 Icons season 3 episode 18: Kopano Matlwa Mabaso

“To be South African is to inherit a painful but courageous history. South Africans are always looking at how we can do things better and I love being a part of that.” – Kopano Matlwa Mabaso

It’s 11 : 35 AM on day 1960 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Philippians 1, learn one new thing –The Moon is neither a star or a planet, it is Earth’s only natural satellite. Thought to have formed 4.5 billion years ago, scientists believe it is made from debris left from an impact between Earth and a large planet. It orbits our planet around once every four weeks, with one side of the Moon always facing Earth.- have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Paul and Juliet Merrell of Big Planet Radio donated $40 and today Beverly donated $25   (thanks SO MUCH  Paul and Juliet and Beverly  your ongoing support means the world to me :) )  which brings my total raised to $1 235 only $5 015 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ) .

Day 1959: Changing for the world Vs. Changing the world

“If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must be different from the world.” – Brent Lindeque

It’s 12 : 30 PM on day 1959 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 6, learn one new thing –This myth possibly arose as a way of explaining why Koalas sleep for up to 22 hours a day. They need more sleep than most animals because eucalyptus leaves contain toxins and are very low in nutrition and high in fibrous matter so they take a large amount of energy to digest.- have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign –raised $1 170 so far only $5 080 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ) .

Today I realized I wasn’t born to conform to the world I was born to transform the world which may be hard for some people to understand and may cause some problems for me in a world that values fitting in above all else but you know I refuse to change for the world I much prefer changing the world.

Day 1958: What to do when you screw up

When you screw up all you can do is apologize and try to fix things – that’s what I’ve learned.

It’s 11 : 24 AM on day 1958 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 5 have breakfast, learn one new thing –While it may be tempting to brush off warnings against looking up at this eclipse bare-eyed, don’t: The light of an eclipse really can damage your eyes — though warnings of total blindness are likely overstated. The condition is called solar retinopathy, and it occurs when bright light from the sun floods the retina–  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – $1 170 raised so far so grateful :) .

Yesterday I screwed up royally when I realized it I apologized immediately and tried to fix things hopefully my apology was accepted wholeheartedly now I just have to forgive myself for my own stupidity which is going to be harder than being forgiven by the person I wronged.

Day 1957: Karma and Us

How people treat you is their karma how you treat them is yours – words I try to live by.

It’s 12 : 11 PM on day 1957 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 4, learn one new thing –Jonas Salk. Jonas Edward Salk (October 28, 1914 – June 23, 1995) was an American medical researcher and virologist. He discovered and developed the first successful inactivated polio vaccine. He was born in New York City to Jewish parents.- have breakfast  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Nancy donated $25 and today Rema aunty donated $25   (thanks SO MUCH  Nancy and Rema aunty  your ongoing  support means the world to me :) )  which brings my total raised to $1 170 only $5 080 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :) ) .

A while ago I read something like how people treat you is their karma how you treat them is yours now every time I find myself in an unpleasant interaction with someone I try to remember those words it really helps me keep my self-control (that and bless those who curse you works really well).
