Day 2242: Pray, Wait and Hope

Sometimes all you can do is pray, wait and hope  – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11 :  49 AM on day 2242 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  have breakfast, pray, read John 14:27,  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   Tinuchechi donated $250 (thanks SO MUCH for everything chechi) which brings the total  raised to $8 711.04 only  $3 788.96  more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized that sometimes in life all you can do is pray, wait and hope (it’s hard for a control freak like me but I’m letting go and letting God).

Day 2241: Getting Tougher Along With The Times

When the going gets tough the tough get tougher– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 :  53 AM on day 2241 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  have breakfast, pray, read Colossians 3:15,  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – yesterday Catherine Cook donated $25 and Dr. Ann Abraham donated $250 (thanks SO MUCH Catherine and Annaunty) which brings the total  raised to $8 461.04 only  $4 038.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I’m feeling a bit fluey but I’m hanging in there and praying I’ll get better before Sunday (I’m going ziplining  for Smile Train at Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour (please God make me feel better I hardly ever ask for anything for myself please)).

Day 2240: “If all you had to offer was friendship, who would still be around?”

“So don’t be surprised if God puts strangers in your life to take you to higher places.” – Trent Shelton

It’s 12 : 14  PM on day 2240 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Exodus 14:13 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 186.04 only  $4 313.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I heard a podcast by Dennis Ngango entitled “If all you had to offer was friendship, who would still be around?” and in it was a spoken word of the same name by Trent Shelton I really needed to hear it (thanks for sharing it Dennis). Listen to  “If all you had to offer was friendship, who would still be around?” below:

Day 2239: Will That Matter On Your Deathbed?

When stressed, worried or anxious ask yourself will this matter on my deathbed and if the answer is no then stop being stressed, worried or anxious – that’s what I do.

It’s 10 :  49 AM on day 2239 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Psalm 23:4, learn on new thing – Lugubrious [lu·gu·bri·ous] adj. Looking or sounding sad and dismal; mournful. “The lugubrious country song reminded her of an ex-boyfriend.” – and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – yesterday Stan Faryna donated $25 (thanks SO MUCH Stan for always always supporting me) which brings the total  raised to $8 186.04 only  $4 313.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning I realized most of the things we worry about and fuss over won’t matter in a year so in moments of stress, worry or anxiousness we should all ask ourselves will this matter on my deathbed and if the answer is no then stop being stressed, worried or anxious.

Day 2238: Believe in People

Everybody needs somebody to believe in them – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 :  30 AM on day 2238 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read 1 Peter 3: 14 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 161.04 only  $4 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I was reminded that each one of us needs somebody to believe in us nobody has ever succeeded without first believe that they could (even those who succeeded without anybody believing they could probably chose to believe in themselves it only takes one person to believe and sometimes that one person is you and that’s ok).

Day 2237: Embrace the Present

Embrace the present– that’s my message to myself and the world.

It’s 10 :  13 AM on day 2237 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Romans 8:15 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 161.04 only  $4 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning laying in bed staring at the ceiling I wondered what would become of future everything about my life is so up in the air sometimes that’s trilling and other times it’s scary as hell but however I feel I’m so grateful for this life and this day October 29, 2016 will never come again.

Day 2236: Own Your Accomplishments

Own your accomplishments and be proud of who you are– that’s my message to myself and the world

It’s 10 :  54 AM on day 2236 of my journey towards independence and I managed to go to church,  read Matthew 10: 28   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – yesterday  Linda Mastroianni donated $25 (thanks SO MUCH Linda) which brings the total  raised to $8 161.04 only  $4 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I realized that it’s okay to leverage my past accomplishments to get ahead in the present I was uncomfortable about doing that in the past but now I realize I would be foolish not to.

Day 2235: The Contradiction That Is Me

I am a living, breathing contradiction and that’s almost okay – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11 :  20 AM on day 2235 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Romans 5:17,  learn one new thing – Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon, who led the first European expedition to Florida in 1513, named the state in tribute to Spain’s Easter celebration known as “Pascua Florida,” or Feast of Flowers. – and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 136.04 only  $4 363.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today it occurred to me yet again how much of a contradiction I actually am I am fiercely independent in mind and in spirit and yet I’m so dependent on others for my physical needs, I am an optimist and a realist, I  strive to be selfless and yet sometimes I can’t see past my own needs….. I’ve stopped trying to figure myself out and have decide just to love myself contradictions and all.

Day 2233: How to Be Your Best When You Treat and React to People

Treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values and not your feelings and you’ll never have anything to apologize for – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 11 :  09 AM on day 2233 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Galatians 5:24,  learn one new thing – As sea turtles are air breathing reptiles, they need to surface to breathe. Sea turtles can hold their breath for several hours, depending upon the level of activity. A resting or sleeping turtle can remain underwater for 4-7 hours.

Yesterday I realized that if you treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values and not your feelings you’ll never have anything to apologize for (when you decide to treat people the way they treat you or react to them based on how you feel at the time it ALWAYS ends up being a disaster because you’re in the moment but if you  make a life decision that no matter what you’re going to treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values then you’ll be your best in all situations).

Day 2232: Purpose in the Face of Fear

Fear is nothing in the face of purpose – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11 :  26 AM on day 2232 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Romans 5:1,  learn one new thing – Definitions for compunction
1. a feeling of uneasiness or anxiety of the conscience caused by regret for doing wrong or causing pain; contrition; remorse. 2.any uneasiness or hesitation about the rightness of an action.

Yesterday my brother asked me how can you go ziplining when you’re scared of little heights (he’s right I’m scared of most things most of the time but I refuse to be ruled by fear) and I said I’m not scared because I’m not doing it for myself I’m doing it for Smile Train fear is nothing in the face of purpose.
