Day 2263: Be Happy Now

Be happy now– that’s my message to the world.

it’s 12: 00  PM on day 2263 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read 1 Timothy 4:4-5  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far )

Today I realized that if I wait for everything to be just right for me to be happy then I’ll never be happy so I’m choosing to be happy in this moment and every moment that follows because despite my occasional pain and discomfort I’m still alive and kicking.

Day 2262: Just Keep Moving

Sometimes in life we’ve just got to keep moving– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11 :  39 AM on day 2262 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray,  have breakfast, read Ephesians 1:15-16  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   Beverly Bernhardt donated $50 (thanks SO MUCH Bev) which brings the total  raised to $9161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning I realized that sometimes in life we’ve just got to keep moving even when it hurts and even when you  feel like staying in bed would be the classy thing to do just get up and keep moving towards your goals.

Day 2261: Wishing Things Were Different (sometimes)

It’s okay to love your life and still wish things were different (sometimes) – that’s what I’ve realized.

it’s 12: 30  PM on day 2261 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read 2 Corinthians 4:15-16   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far )

This morning as much as I loved my life I couldn’t help wishing things were different I hate waiting on people to help me do the most basic things (patience, as you may have guessed, is not of my virtues)   I have realized that it’s okay to love your life and still wish things were different (sometimes).

Day 2260: Why I Hate Nobody

“Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.” – Will Smith

it’s 12: 15  PM on day 2260 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Psalm 95:2-3  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far )

Today I was searching my heart and I realized I hated nobody I may be hurt by the words and actions of some people but in the end I’m even grateful for them because they teach me something I didn’t know before I don’t even hate murders, rapists or terrorists because I know that their actions are the reflection of their inner-brokenness.

Day 2259: Learning Sesotho

Aim to learn and grow every day – that’s my message to the world.

it’s 12: 00  PM on day 2259 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Jonah 2:9 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) –

Yesterday I decided that I was going to learn to speak Sesotho – one of South Africa’s eleven official languages – I don’t quite know how that’s going to work seeing as most people who live in this province speak IsiXhosa and not Sesotho but I’ll make a plan (I already know how to speak Isixhosa hence I want to learn Sesotho).

Day 2258: My Christmas Project

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” – Calvin Coolidge

it’s 12: 07  PM on day 2258 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Thessalonians 5:18,   work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 111.04 only  $3 388.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) – and spend time with family.

Today I decided that in the lead up to Christmas I would call, message or email people who’ve had an impact on my life this year (I apologize in advance if my expression of appreciation is a bit much for some I promise i’ll make it quick and painless).

Day 2257: The Different Forms of Courage

Sometimes courage is not in the big acts sometimes it’s putting yourself out there to be possibly rejected – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 10 :  30 AM on day 2257 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray,  have breakfast, read Nahum 1:3 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   yesterday Bithun Babu donated $100 (thanks SO MUCH Bithun) which brings the total  raised to $9111.04 only  $3 388.96  more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized that sometimes courage is not in the big acts sometimes it’s putting yourself out there to be possibly rejected (most of us think courage is ziplining or bungee-jumping and yes sometimes it is but it’s also approaching somebody for something knowing they could possibly turn you down).

Day 2256: Thank You Real-Life Superheroes

Thank you to the good, kind and honest people of the world –  that’s what I’d like to say.

it’s 12: 06  PM on day 2256 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Proverbs 29:11,  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 011.04 only  $3 488.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I feel bombarded by the negativity going on in the world so I’d like to pause to think about and thank all the good, kind and honest people of the world for everything that they do (both seen and unseen). Thank you Catherine Constantinides, Ella Bella Constantinides-Leite, Sebastian Schütte and the Panda Crew, Brent Lindeque, Kerri Stein, Yusuf Abramjee, Carolyn Steyn, Susannah Schaefer, Kayan Leung, Nazia Peer, Dr. Rema Matthews and all the other good, kind and honest people of the world you make the world go around.

Day 2255: Life and Living to the Fullest

Don’t let that which you cannot control rule your life– that’s my message to the world.

it’s 10: 20  AM on day 2255 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Proverbs 15:18 ,  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 011.04 only  $3 488.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized that I’ll probably be in some sort of pain or discomfort most days of my life which really sucks but I refuse to let that rule my life I’m determined to live my life to the fullest in spite of my pain and discomfort.

Day 2254: Try For Others And Yourself

Wake up every day and try for everybody – that’s my message to the world.

it’s 12: 12  PM on day 2254 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read John 14:2-4, learn one new thing – Opprobrious [op·pro·bri·ous] adj. Disgraceful; shameful. “His actions were opprobrious.” – and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 011.04 only  $3 488.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized there’s something to be said for waking up every morning and trying with all your heart and all your spirit for others and yourself because in the end every achievement begins with the courage to try.
