It’s 10 : 09 AM on day 2379 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Psalm 37:8-9 and learn a new word – Definitions for anthophilous 1.attracted by or living among flowers. 2.feeding on flowers, as certain insects. Also, anthophagous .

Day 2378: Beautiful Interruption

Be a beautiful interruption in someone’s day – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 2378 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read 2 Thessalonians 2:15 and learn a new word – Genteel (gen·teel) adj. 1. Refined in manner; well-bred and polite. 2. Free from vulgarity or rudeness. 3.Elegantly stylish: genteel manners and appearance.

Last year on a day when I was sick Catherine Constantinides called to check on me I was so touched by that (in that moment I knew how sick kids felt when Batman or Spiderman called) and ever since then at least once a month I call someone I love or someone who has helped me in some way just to hi or thank you I’ve spoken to people from all walks of life and it was interesting to note their similar reactions to my phone calls all of them were so touched that I called I think because my phone call was proof that they mattered to someone. Be a beautiful interruption in someone’s day make a call just to say hi or thank you.

Day 2377: Flow with Life

Sometimes you’ve got to flow with life and stop trying to make life flow with you – that’s what I learned today.

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 2377 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read 3 John 1: 4, go grocery shopping, spend time outside and learn a new word – Epicurean (ep·i·cu·re·an) adj. Devoted to the pursuit of sensual pleasure, particularly the enjoyment of gourmet food.

Today I had a plan about how things were going to go and although I still achieved my goal things didn’t exactly go the way I planned and from that I learned that sometimes I’ve got to flow with life and stop trying to make life flow with me.

Day 2375: Flexible in Method

All of us can do anything once we let go of wanting to do it like everybody else– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11 : 14 AM on day 2375 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Psalm 1: 1 and learn a new word – Definitions for code-switching
1. the modifying of one’s behavior, appearance, etc., to adapt to different sociocultural norms: For many female Muslim students, code-switching from their home environment to that of school requires forgoing the hijab.

This morning I realized that all of us can do anything once we let go of wanting to do it like everybody else does it I for the longest time wanted to do everything the way people who could walk did it and sometimes it still breaks my heart that I can’t but I have come to accept that if I am to live the full life that I want to live I have to be committed to my goals but flexible in my methods.

The good we try to do somehow always always comes back to us– that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 10 : 35 AM on day 2374 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read 2 Corinthians 4:6, make birthday videos for people – i make a huge deal of everyone’s birthday everyone just wants to know they matter and they do if only to God, me and their families – and learn a new word – Nexus (nex·us) n. A means of connection; a link or tie: “The nexus between the mob and gambling.” 2. A connected series or group. 3. The core or center.

Yesterday I had any epiphany and that was that every good thing that has happened to me so far has been a bi-product of me trying to do something good or kind for others without expecting anything in return.

Day 2373: The Quality of your Every Day

The quality of your day depends entirely on you – that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 12 : 31 PM on day 2373 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Number 6: 24-26 and learn a new word – Definitions for arithmancy
divination by the use of numbers, especially by the number of letters in names. Also arithmomancy.

This morning I was feeling not-so great but I am choosing to say pain be damned discomfort be damned I’m going to make the best of this day every day, even those that are not our best, is a gift and I refuse to spend my days whining about how much pain I’m in or how uncomfortable I happen to be when I have so much to be grateful for and so many opportunities and platforms to make a positive contribution to the world.

Day 2372: Reflection on my life so far

It’s 11 : 56 AM on day 2372 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Samuel 22: 4 and learn a new word – Definitions for heart-whole 1.not in love.
2. wholehearted; sincere.

This morning I was laying on my bed quietly reflecting on the almost twenty-six years of my life and unsurprisingly I found out that it’s the people I’ve met and the experiences that I’ve had along the way that mean the most to me (life really isn’t about things or money it’s about the connections we create with others and their stories that become woven with ours – I will never forget the man who thought to donate to one of my campaigns in the midst of grieving the loss of his wife and raising two young sons or the university student who somehow always has the money to help me make a difference (these people and many others are forever a part of my story and I am forever grateful to be a small part of theirs)).

Day 2369: My Birthday Month Gratitude Project

It’s 11 : 20 AM on day 2369 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Ephesians John 1: 16 and learn a new word – Definitions for stravage 1.Scot., Irish, and North England. to wander aimlessly. 2. to saunter; stroll.

A few days ago I decided that in honour of my birthday month I would contact everybody who’s had an impact on my life so far just to say thank you it’s been remarkable to see just how much simple expressions of gratitude mean to people (being kind and seeing the impact of my attempts at kindness makes me feel high on life truly there’s no better feeling in the world than knowing you made someone else feel good about who they are and whatever it is that they do).
