Day 2392: “People Are Like Garbage Trucks”

People know the truth when they hear it– that’s what I realized yesterday.

 

It’s 11 : 30  AM on day 2392 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Matthew 20: 18-19, have breakfast  and learn a new word – Chagrin n.  A keen feeling of mental unease, as of annoyance or embarrassment, caused by failure, disappointment, or a disconcerting event. “He decided to take the day off, much to the chagrin of his boss.”

Day 2391: Thank you so much to the true leaders of South Africa

South Africa is blessed with some leaders of character – that’s what I realized yesterday.

 

It’s 12 : 10  PM on day 2391 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Romans 10: 17 , have breakfast  and learn a new word – Definitions for plisky 1.Scot. and North England. a mischievous trick; practical joke; prank. 2. Scot. and North England. mischievous; playful.

 

Yesterday amid divisions in the country I was heartened to see some leaders who were unwilling to compromise their values for a job title and money. Thank you so much to the true leaders of South Africa who stand up for what is right even if it means losing their seat (quite literally).

It’s 11 : 51  AM on day 2390 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Genesis 15:6 , have breakfast  and learn a new word – Loquacious (lo·qua·cious) adj Very talkative; garrulous. “Her loquacious sales pitch lasted the entire afternoon.”

Day 2388: Ahmed Kathrada Funeral

“Hatred, revenge, bitterness; these are negative emotions. The person harbouring these emotions suffers more.” – Ahmed Kathrada

 

It’s 12 : 03  PM on day 2388 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Numbers 14:19 , have breakfast and watch part Uncle Kathy’s Funeral.

 

This morning I was watching part of Ahmed Kathrada’s funeral on Youtube it was extraordinary to see South African’s of all shades and ages coming together to celebrate this amazing human being I love that all of them emphasized Uncle Kathy’s unwavering commitment to a cause greater than himself, the cause of a non-racial South Africa. Uncle Kathy’s life is an example to us all he taught us that a life of service is a life of significance. RIP Uncle Kathy you were a giant on whose shoulders we still stand we love you always and forever.

Day 2387: Rest In Peace Ahmed Kathrada

It’s 10 : 39  AM on day 2387 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read James 5: 20 , have breakfast  and learn a new word – Rapacious (ra·pa·cious) Adj Aggressively greedy or ravenous; plundering: “A rapacious salesman.”

 

This morning I woke up to the very sad news that anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Kathrada passed away I know that nobody can live forever but some people really should he was the last few of a dying breed of noble, honest and courageous human beings. Thank you for the freedoms I currently enjoy I will try to honour your life by living your values. RIP Uncle Kathy we love you.

 

Day 2386: South Africa in 10 Days

See everything in life through the eyes of a tourist – that’s my message to the world.

 

It’s 10 : 42  AM on day 2386 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Acts 3:19 , have breakfast  and learn a new word – Mendacious (men·da·cious) adj Not telling the truth; lying: “A mendacious politician;” “A mendacious defendant.”

Day 2385: Try everything

Try new things you might hate it or love it but you’ll never know if you don’t try it – that’s my message to the world.

 

It’s 12 : 57  PM on day 2385 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Daniel 9: 9, have breakfast  and learn a new word – Perspicacious (per·spi·ca·cious) adj Having strong insight into and understanding of things. “She showed perspicacious judgment.”

 

Yesterday we went to a steakhouse and I decided to be out there and try the chicken (going to a restaurant that’s famous for its red meat and trying the chicken doesn’t make sense I know) it was huge, dry and bland but I’m glad I tried it because now I know what I don’t like and that goes for everything in life we should try everything because even unpleasant experiences will bring us closer to that which gives us joy and contentment.

Day 2383: Love

Love, much like energy, cannot be destroyed it can only be transferred and transformed   – that’s what I’ve realized.

A while ago it dawned on me that the love I pour into the world always returns to me not necessarily from the people I love but from other sources some people I love have busy lives it would be virtually impossible for them to be calling, emailing and messaging me as much I do them but I continue just filling them up with love knowing it will come back to me from place and people I least expect.

Recently I watched “How To Find The Courage To Do Anything” by Marie Forleo i learned so much from the video from now on in moment of fear I will ask myself what’s the worst that could happen if I don’t do this which will hopefully embolden me. Day 2381: Being Present and the Gift of our Full Presence

Being present makes every moment more beautiful – that’s what I keep realizing,

 

It’s 11 : 25  AM on day 2381 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 27: 4 , have breakfast   and learn a new word – Pernicious (per·ni·cious) adj Having a harmful effect, particularly in a gradual or subtle way. “The hostile takeover will have a pernicious effect on the business.”

 

Yesterday someone came by to visit and in that moment I chose to put my laptop away and be in that moment with him and it actually added something to the interaction I believe when people make an effort to show us that we matter to them the least we can do is give them our physical, mental and emotional presence. The world is alone together let’s stop the epidemic of disconnection by making and maintaining connections in real-life.
