Today I’m feeling all sorts of awful I think I’m starting to have a cold or the flu but there are people going through worse I thank God for the problems I don’t have and the prayers i don’t have to pray. Thank you God for all my blessings and please help people who are going through worse than me.

Day 2587: “Can’t doesn’t fit in the dictionary”

Can’t doesn’t fit in the dictionary.” – Gerda Bence

Yesterday I was at physiotherapy appointment exercising my core muscles and I said to her  (feeling a bit sorry for myself) I can’t sit without raising my arms [for balance] to which she said  “can’t” doesn’t fit in the dictionary and that was that I did what she asked in almost complete silence because I was so touched that even after all these years she was still trying to teach me  to believe in myself (I shudder to think where my life would me without her who has always refused to let me squander my potential). Thank you Gerda I LOVE YOU (sometimes you’re a pain but you’re the kind of pain that reminds me that my life and my potential matters and so I will be keeping you around forever and a day)

Day 2586: Keeping Hope Alive

“Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,

Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

– Dylan Thomas, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night”

It’s 11 : 50  AM on day 2586 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Isaiah 47:4 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet -raised $4 337 only $8 163 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot (thanks to everyone who has helped out so far) .

This morning I looked around and saw and felt the brokenness and pain of our world and it actually broke my heart but I will always be like that paramedic putting pressure on the wound and doing CPR on the world trying to keep hope alive (I need hope so I’ll be the hope).

Day 2585: What Happened? Curiosity and An Opportunity

May we all be as honest as children– that’s my hope for the world.

It’s 11: 15  AM on day 2585 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  Daniel 7:13-14 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Shajan uncle and Lissy aunty who donated $50 which brings the total raised to  $4 337 only $8 163 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Recently I was somewhere and this little boy came up to me and asked what happened? (referring to me being on a wheelchair) I almost burst out laughing I loved the child’s honesty and the ease with which he asked the question my mom told me to ignore him I ignored her and replied I was born this way it’s cool to be different to which he said oh and walked away (I didn’t explain my medical condition because I thought he was a little too young to understand but it was important that I use that moment to teach him that there’s beauty in diversity).

Day 2584: International Day of the Girl Child

“Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That’s what little girls are made of.” – Bethany Hamilton

It’s 11: 45  AM on day 2584 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  Zechariah 7:9-10 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Maya Papu who donated $250 which brings the total raised to  $4 287 only $8 213 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today is the International Day of the Girl Child and while admittedly there are challenges to being a girl in this day and age it’s also a period of time in which girls have more opportunities than they’ve ever had before and for those who don’t it is our duty as humanity to create and unlock those opportunities.

Day 2583: World Mental Health Day

“Let’s perhaps try to be more conscious of the fact that the people in our very space daily could be suffering from a form of depression.” – Catherine Constantinides

It’s 12: 35  PM on day 2583 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  1 Peter 4: 10 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Vijay Mammen who donated $25 which brings the total raised to  $4 037 only $8 463 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Today is World Mental Health Day and on this day I stand with those among us who fight battles every day that nobody knows about – mental illness is just as real as physical illness just because we can’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exists. Be kind. Care more.
